1. Our Commitment to Accessibility

Maniatakos Photography is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at level AA.

2. Technical Specifications

The website relies on the following technologies for accessibility compliance:

  • Visible focus indicator for keyboard users.
  • Consistent navigation structure across all pages.
  • Unique and descriptive page titles.

Images & Media

  • Alternative text (alt) on images that convey information.
  • Decorative images marked appropriately to be skipped by screen readers.

Colour & Contrast

  • Colour contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text (WCAG 2.1 Criterion 1.4.3).
  • Information is not conveyed by colour alone.

Forms

  • All form fields have associated labels (label).
  • Confirmation and error messages are clear and accessible.
  • Required fields are explicitly indicated.

Text & Typography

  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Relative font size units (rem) are used throughout.

4. Known Limitations

  • Photo gallery: Some portfolio photographs may have incomplete alternative text descriptions. We are working to continuously improve this.
  • Lightbox: Full keyboard navigation in the lightbox viewer is being continuously improved.

We are committed to addressing these limitations in future updates.
